Volunteer Services and Hospice Care
Our care team is composed of hospice physicians, hospice nurses, personal care aides, medical social workers, grief and bereavement counselors, spiritual care providers, volunteers, and more. We meet regularly to ensure each individual patient receives appropriate, timely, and beneficial care.
Our volunteers play a vital role in our hospice care services. They provide companionship to people living with serious illnesses and might be at the end of their life. Volunteer services and duties will vary from patient to patient, and no two days are ever the same. Some common examples of volunteer tasks include:
- Engaging in hobbies with the patient (board games, playing cards, reading books, etc.)
- Running errands
- Grocery shopping
- Light housekeeping
- Being a comforting and supportive presence
- Transporting the patient to physician visits
- Assistance with personal care
- Allowing the family caregiver to take time for themselves
Does Insurance Cover Hospice Care Services?
Yes. Medicare and Medicaid cover 100% of hospice services, including access to our fantastic volunteer services.
